Zohra Kazemi, head of the women’s wing of the anti-Taliban “Resistance Front,” says that the front is not merely a political or military movement, but rather an expression of the historical will of a people who have stood against tyranny, extremism, and the erasure of national identity.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), she stated that the narrative of the Resistance Front stems from the struggle of the Afghan people and from the core of their aspiration for freedom, and that it represents the voice of the people themselves.
Kazemi emphasized that the narrative of this front was neither shaped in Western think tanks nor is it the result of regional or Eastern political calculations. According to her, the fact that domestic opponents as well as regional and international actors now refer to the front in their discussions shows that it has become an undeniable reality in Afghanistan’s political landscape.
She added that no political movement attracts such a level of attention, criticism, and attacks without possessing a certain degree of influence.
Referring to the issue of legitimacy, the head of the women’s wing of the Resistance Front said that legitimacy is neither created through propaganda nor destroyed through defamation and rumors. In her view, a cause rooted in the demands of the people does not disappear with changes in the political environment.
Kazemi further stated that as the social base, national credibility, and influence of a political movement expand, the level of psychological warfare and criticism against it simultaneously increases.
In conclusion, she said that the Resistance Front today is not only a symbol of resistance against tyranny but also represents the hopes of the people for building an Afghanistan based on freedom, justice, political participation, and the sovereignty of the people’s will.
On the other hand, according to reports, several members of the front have recently increased their armed activities following Iran’s warning to the group not to carry out attacks against the Taliban.
It is also said that some members of the group based in Iran claim that Tehran has prohibited them from conducting attacks against the Taliban.
