A meeting of the Central Security and Reconciliation Commission of the Taliban, chaired by Mullah Yaqub, the group’s Minister of Defense and head of the commission, was held. According to Taliban-affiliated media, the meeting focused on the country’s defense and security situation.
During the session, reports from various provinces were shared with the commission members and Mullah Yaqub. The state-run Bakhtar News Agency, under the control of the Taliban, reported that a range of field and administrative reports were discussed.
Based on the report, decisions were made after reviewing the reports to address existing issues in a timely and effective manner. However, further details regarding the decisions and the topics discussed during the meeting have not been disclosed.
This meeting comes at a time when recent reports indicate ongoing clashes and attacks in border areas between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pakistani security sources have also reported that in some operations, targets in the border regions, including Chaman and parts of Kunar, have been attacked, with both sides accusing each other of carrying out military actions at the border.
