England took the lead in the 55th minute through Anthony Gordon, but Argentina turned the match around in the closing stages. Enzo Fernández equalised in the 85th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box, before Lautaro Martínez scored the winning goal in the 90+2nd minute, finishing off a pass from Lionel Messi to secure victory for La Albiceleste.
England’s goal came from a well-worked team move. Harry Kane initiated the attack with a precise pass, Declan Rice cleverly guided the ball into the path of Morgan Rogers, whose cross was converted by Anthony Gordon with a composed finish.
The defending champions recorded another remarkable comeback in this tournament, earning their place in the final with a hard-fought victory.
Argentina will face Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday, while England will take on France in the third-place playoff on Saturday.
