Summary

The Band-e-Amir Dragons concluded their campaign in the Shpageeza Cricket League after suffering their eighth consecutive defeat. The team also lost to Mis Ainak in its final group-stage match, ending its tournament run.

In the tournament’s 20th match, played on Monday, Mis Ainak won the toss and elected to bat first. Powered by Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s century (102 runs), the team set a target of 203 runs for Band-e-Amir.

Chasing the target, Band-e-Amir failed to mount a competitive response and were bowled out for all out in 17.3 overs. They eventually suffered an 85-run defeat.

The match marked the final group-stage fixture for both sides. However, under the captaincy of Hashmatullah Shahidi, Band-e-Amir also recorded an unwanted milestone by finishing the current edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League with eight consecutive losses.

At the end of the group stage, the Speen Ghar Tigers topped the standings with 13 points, while the Amo Sharks secured second place with 11 points. The tournament final between the two teams is scheduled to be played tomorrow.
