Summary

Construction work on a six-story commercial center worth approximately 150 million Afghanis has officially begun in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh Province.

Officials of the project say that the market is being built on a plot of land measuring nearly 2,650 square meters belonging to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, and it is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of the current year.

Mohammad Asif Momand, the project manager, stated that the construction process of this commercial center will take between six to nine months.

According to the project engineers, high-quality domestic construction materials will be used in the building, and efforts will be made to ensure that the necessary construction standards are observed.

A number of workers also described the launch of such projects as important for creating job opportunities and helping improve the economic conditions of families.

They say that the expansion of construction projects can provide employment opportunities for dozens of people and contribute to improving the economic situation in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif.

This comes as the Municipality of Mazar-i-Sharif had previously announced the issuance of permits for the construction of more than 300 commercial and residential buildings in the city.

The increase in construction projects in Mazar-i-Sharif is considered a sign of expanding economic activities and investment in one of the most important economic centers in northern Afghanistan.
