The National Disaster Management Authority has announced that from Thursday to Saturday (April 30 to May 2), a severe storm with thick dust and sand will hit the country. According to this forecast, the concentration of suspended particles in the air is expected to exceed 300 micrograms per cubic meter, which is considered highly dangerous.
The statement indicates that the northern, northwestern, western, and southwestern provinces of Afghanistan will be most affected by this weather phenomenon, with a possibility of reduced air quality and limited horizontal visibility in these areas.
The authority has urged citizens to take necessary precautions to protect their health during these days and avoid unnecessary exposure to open air.
