An armed attacker entered a restaurant in the city of Mersin on Monday, killing two people and injuring at least eight others, including customers. The condition of some of the wounded has been reported as critical. According to police, after fleeing the scene, the attacker also killed two more people in two other areas.
So far, no further details have been released regarding the identity of the attacker or the motive behind the assault.
Turkish gendarmerie forces and police have launched a large-scale ground and air operation to capture the suspect.
Meanwhile, security camera footage captured the moment of the attack at the restaurant, showing the gunman entering the venue, opening fire on the people inside, and then fleeing the area.
