Sources from the government hospital in Kunar have told the media that as a result of attacks by Pakistani forces on Asadabad, the provincial capital, and the Sarkano district, 4 people have been killed and 47 others wounded. According to the sources, among the victims, there are women and children as well.

Pakistani forces targeted parts of the Sarkano district with rocket attacks.

The sources also mentioned that civilian homes were targeted in these attacks, resulting in casualties.

Images received by the media from these attacks show thick black smoke rising from several of these areas.

Meanwhile, officials at the government hospital in Asadabad, Kunar, have confirmed that some of the wounded have been transferred to the hospital, and ambulances have been dispatched to transfer the injured to other areas.

The Taliban has not yet responded to these attacks.

Some local residents say that, in addition to rocket attacks, drone strikes and even the use of fighter jets have also been reported.

According to local sources, as the attacks continue, some civilians have been forced to flee their homes.

These attacks come just a day after some tribal elders from the Sarkano district announced that talks with tribal elders from Bajaur, on the other side of the Durand Line, had begun. The goal of these discussions, which were held with the permission of the Taliban and in the form of two meetings, was to achieve a permanent ceasefire and halt the attacks.

However, the continuation of the attacks suggests that the mediation efforts and tribal dialogues have not yet yielded any tangible results.

At the same time, clashes between the Taliban and Pakistani forces have also been reported in the border regions of Spin Boldak and South Waziristan.
