The police command of Zabul province, under the Taliban administration, says that following a traffic accident in the Shah Joy district, approximately 64.5 million Afghanis in cash and more than three thousand US dollars were handed over to their rightful owner after legal verification.
According to the command, the money had been collected at the scene of the incident by local residents, and after the matter was confirmed and investigated, relevant authorities acted on the instructions of the governor of Zabul.
The source adds that officials from the intelligence department, religious scholars, and representatives of relevant institutions attended the handover ceremony, and the assets were delivered to a money changer from Helmand who was identified as the owner of the funds.
