The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union (EU) have emphasized the need for an inclusive government in Afghanistan in a joint stance. They stated that the current political situation does not represent all Afghans and that a government must be formed that ensures the participation of various sectors of the country.
Meanwhile, both sides expressed concern about the human rights situation in Afghanistan and emphasized that the rights of women, girls, and other fundamental rights must be respected. They also called for practical steps to address the ongoing humanitarian and economic crises.
