Iran’s Foreign Ministry says that Tehran is focused on efforts to end wars in the region and reduce tensions, and is ready for any cooperation aimed at easing tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan.
Esmaeil Baghaei, the ministry’s spokesman, said during a press conference on Monday that the dispute between Afghanistan and Pakistan is a matter of concern for Iran, and that Tehran supports any constructive action for regional stability.
In response to a question about whether Iran is trying to mediate peace between Afghanistan and Pakistan, he said that at the current stage, Tehran’s priority is ending wars and reducing crises in the region.
Baghaei added that Iran has repeatedly announced its support for any possible effort to reduce tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan and resolve disputes, and that it is ready for any kind of cooperation in this regard.
