The Kabul Boxing Selection Championships, which had started 12 days ago, concluded with the participation of more than 600 athletes from 102 clubs. The competitions were held in the senior category across 13 weight classes.
According to the organizers, at the end of the tournament, 26 top athletes succeeded in qualifying for the Kabul Boxing Select Team. Officials stated that the purpose of organizing these competitions was to identify outstanding talents and strengthen Kabul’s select boxing team.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by officials from the Boxing Federation, sports authorities, and a number of boxing enthusiasts. Outstanding athletes were also honored during the event.
The competitions were held at the Boxing Federation Hall, where athletes from four zones of Kabul city, three districts, and one club affiliated with the Ministry of Education competed against each other in weight categories ranging from 48 kg to over 92 kg.
