Mirwais Azizi said that he had long wanted to visit and check on Shapoor Zadran, the former fast bowler of Afghanistan’s cricket team, but due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and travel restrictions, he had not been able to do so.
He wrote on his X page that he traveled to Delhi yesterday, where he met with Shapoor Zadran. According to him, during the meeting he received information about Zadran’s health condition and ongoing treatment and also spoke with members of his family.
Mirwais Azizi said that he had provided the necessary financial support to cover Shapoor Zadran’s medical expenses and assured that this support would continue until his full recovery.
He added that Shapoor Zadran is an important sporting figure for Afghanistan who, through his achievements in cricket, has brought joy and pride to millions of Afghans.
