Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has rejected the allegations made by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the presence of foreign militant groups in Afghanistan and the alleged use of Afghan territory against Pakistan.
In an audio message, Mujahid stated that the Taliban do not allow any foreign group to operate on Afghan soil and emphasized that Afghanistan’s territory will not be used against any country.
The Taliban spokesperson further said that serious measures are underway to maintain security in the country and described Shehbaz Sharif’s recent remarks as unfounded. According to him, such accusations harm relations between Kabul and Islamabad and undermine the level of trust between the two countries.
Mujahid called on both sides to create an environment of cooperation and mutual understanding instead of exchanging accusations, so that existing issues can be resolved through dialogue.
The remarks by the Taliban spokesperson came after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed during a meeting to review the security situation in Balochistan that India was behind recent attacks in the province and that Afghan territory was being used to carry out those attacks.
