Rohid Stanikzai, an Afghan martial arts athlete, won his second match at the 2026 Asian Youth Mixed Martial Arts Championships by defeating his opponent from Kyrgyzstan and advancing to the next stage of the competition.
Stanikzai faced Firdavs Ergashov in this bout and secured victory, recording his second consecutive win in the tournament.
The Afghan athlete had previously defeated Nazar Maksitbayev in his opening fight in the under-60 kg weight category.
The second round of the 2026 Asian Youth Mixed Martial Arts Championships is being held from May 18 to 20 in Uzbekistan under the supervision of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association. In this tournament, young athletes from various Asian countries compete in two categories: “Modern Mixed Martial Arts” and “Traditional Mixed Martial Arts.”
According to the organizers, the competition is aimed at identifying young talents, developing the sport of mixed martial arts, and providing athletes with opportunities to compete at the international level. The event has already played an important role in the growth of the sport across Asia.
