The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment announced that during the visit of a 100-member delegation consisting of Taliban officials and Afghan traders to Namangan Province of Uzbekistan, trade and investment agreements worth $210 million were signed.
According to the information provided, these agreements cover various areas of commercial and investment cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan; however, no further details have yet been released regarding the projects or the nature of the cooperation.
Uzbekistan, as one of Afghanistan’s northern neighbors, has maintained its trade relations with Kabul in recent years, and efforts to expand economic cooperation between the two sides have continued.
Private sector activists say that the development of regional cooperation can play an important role in improving markets, increasing trade, and creating job opportunities for Afghan citizens an issue that is especially important given the country’s difficult economic conditions.
