Taliban’s Minister of Public Works, Mohammad Issa Thani, met with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Khawaja Awazov, in Kabul to discuss the expansion of economic, trade, and transport cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, the construction of the Aqina–Andkhoy railway, the development of the Torghundi port, and increased transit activities.
According to a statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works, the meeting focused on strengthening economic, commercial, and transport relations between the two countries, as well as increasing the movement of goods through the Aqina–Andkhoy and Torghundi routes.
The statement added that the two sides held detailed discussions on the construction of the 10-kilometre Aqina–Andkhoy railway line, the expansion of Torghundi port, and the establishment of new facilities at the port.
