Informed sources have announced to the media that unofficial talks between representatives of the Taliban and Pakistan in Istanbul have concluded. According to these sources, the discussions were conducted in a focused and direct manner, with the main topic being shared security issues.
During the talks, topics such as the activities of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the ISIS group were discussed. Sources say that the two sides have reached some initial understandings on certain matters, although the details of these agreements have not yet been published.
According to the information provided, the negotiating parties have requested that the Taliban declare Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan as a terrorist group, while Pakistan would recognize the presence of ISIS on its soil. These points have been highlighted as the main points of disagreement between the two sides.
Reports indicate that a proposed text of an agreement between representatives close to the Taliban and the Pakistani government has been finalized, but this text has not yet been made available to the media, and its exact contents remain unclear. It is also uncertain whether this agreement will be formally accepted by the Taliban administration.
Previously, several rounds of talks between the Taliban and the Pakistani government had been held in various countries, including Doha, Riyadh, Istanbul, and Urumqi, without reaching a definitive outcome.
