A female entrepreneur in the city of Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan province, has established a workshop for making beads and jewelry, providing employment and professional training opportunities for around 50 women and girls.
The head of the workshop says the main goal of establishing this center is to strengthen the technical skills of women and help them achieve economic self-sufficiency, so that after completing the training courses, they can operate independently.
According to her, the women and girls participating in the workshop not only learn essential skills but also have the opportunity to earn income through this work and eventually start their own businesses.
While, after recent political changes, job opportunities for women have been limited in many sectors, such initiatives can help maintain women’s economic presence and strengthen their role in society.
However, the lack of a proper market for selling products and the shortage of regular exhibitions have been identified as some of the major challenges faced by women working in this field. Activists in this area emphasize that more support could provide the necessary conditions for the growth of such initiatives.
