Thirty-seven refugees near the Lithuania-Belarus border were detained after attempting to enter Poland illegally, a country considered a gateway to the European Union.
In a separate incident in the city of Gubin, near the German border, three refugees, including one Afghan citizen, were arrested. They were identified while attempting to cross illegally into Germany, and according to border authorities, they did not possess any legal residence documents for Poland.
According to the information provided, these individuals stated that they intended to reach Germany and claimed that they had previously entered Poland via Lithuania.
Polish authorities said that these refugees have been sentenced to 10 months of suspended imprisonment for illegal border crossing, and administrative proceedings for their deportation to their countries of origin have also been initiated.
