The Resistance Front, in a statement marking the fifth anniversary of the collapse of the Islamic Republic and the Taliban’s return to power, said that Afghanistan is at a “critical and decisive stage” in its history.
The group described the Taliban government as “illegitimate and repressive” and claimed that the collapse of the republican system and the Taliban’s return to power five years ago were the result of a “complex domestic and international conspiracy and agreement.”
The Resistance Front described the Taliban’s five years in power as being based on force, violence, monopolization of power, violations of the law, and the looting of national assets. It also accused the Taliban of imposing widespread restrictions on women and girls, suppressing civil liberties, and supporting terrorist networks.
According to the statement, the Taliban’s policies have further isolated Afghanistan from the international community, and the group accused the Taliban of establishing a “tribal and repressive” system.
The Resistance Front said it would continue its struggle against the Taliban and called for the establishment of a legitimate, democratic, and law-based government. According to the group, the future political system should be founded on freedom, equality, social justice, and the restoration of women’s rights.
The group also expressed concern over Afghanistan’s diplomatic isolation, sanctions, and tensions with the regional and international community, emphasizing the need to strengthen security, transparency, public welfare, and responsible relations with other countries.
The Resistance Front concluded by saying that it would continue its struggle until Afghanistan is “completely liberated from the grip of tyranny and terrorism” and the demands outlined in its statement are implemented.
