Summary

According to reports by Russian media outlets, Russia significantly reduced its exports of gasoline and aviation fuel to Afghanistan in June of this year, while increasing its diesel exports.

The report states that during this period, Russian gasoline exports to Afghanistan declined by 34 percent, while aviation fuel exports fell by 92 percent. In contrast, diesel exports increased by 42 percent.

According to market data, the decline in gasoline imports has had a direct impact on Afghanistan’s fuel market, leading to a rapid increase in gasoline prices at fuel stations across the country.

The report further notes that Russian companies are among the key suppliers of gasoline to Afghanistan. Among these companies, Rosneft accounts for nearly half of Russia’s gasoline exports to Afghanistan. Gazprom Neft Khim Salavat and Gazprom Neft also play significant roles in supplying fuel to the Afghan market.

The reduction in gasoline and aviation fuel exports has negatively affected Afghanistan’s fuel supply situation. However, at the same time, the increase in diesel exports has helped maintain a relatively stable level of diesel availability in the market.
