On Thursday, May 10, the front issued a statement welcoming this decision, describing it as an important international move. According to the statement, the women’s national football team in exile has been accepted as the official representative of Afghanistan in international competitions.
The statement also mentioned that FIFA has described this move as a step toward supporting the rights and freedoms of women in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.
The Freedom Front further congratulated the players, coaches of the women’s national football team, and all supporters of women’s rights in Afghanistan.
